The 2018 'PEXY' Awards will be hosted by Judge JB Avants of Oil & Gas Journal

Editor of Oil, Gas & Petrochem Equipment / OGPE.com / Equip-Alert: Oil & Gas Journal’s Products & Services Affiliate.
Joined PennWell (then Petroleum Publishing Company) in 1972. Graduated University of Tulsa with Bachelor’s in Journalism, 1971.

Finalists will be notified in February 2018.

A representative from the winning company, individual or body must be available to accept the award. Winners will be announced at the 2018 Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Register for the Luncheon here! You will need to register first and then select the luncheon on the next page.

All companies, bodies and individuals involved in crude oil and natural gas pipeline operations, construction, integrity, safety, products, solutions and regulatory compliance of pipelines should consider entering. Anyone may submit a nomination, however, the award will be given to the individual, body or project/product owner who is nominated.

One winner will be selected in each of the five categories:

  • Innovative Product/Solution Award
  • Oil or Gas Pipeline Project Award
  • Environmental Awareness Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • ‘One to Watch’ in the Pipeline Industry Award

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

For the first three categories listed above, the Project, Product, Solution or Environmental Awareness activities (or significant phases of a phased rollout) must have been completed between November 15, 2016 to November 15, 2017.

JUDGING

All award winners will be judged and selected by:

• Tom Miesner, author of the best-selling PennWell book, Oil and Gas Pipelines in NonTechnical Lanuage and owner of Pipeline Knowledge & Development in Houston

• Joey Mechelle Stenner, chief editor of PennEnergy and conference director for the Pipeline + Energy Expo

• J.B. Avants, seasoned editor of Oil, Gas & Petrochem Equipment

• Matt Dresher, publisher of PennEnergy and PennWell Books

• Teresa Hanson, editor in chief for Electric Light & Power, POWERGRID International and Utility Products, and advisory committee chair for DistribuTECH and Electric Light & Power Executive Conference

AWARDS FOR INDIVIDUALS

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD CRITERIA:

The Lifetime Achievement Award will recognize and promote an individual who has made a significant contribution to the oil & gas pipeline industry over a sustained period of time. Nominees should have 25 years, or more, of sustained service to the industry, the respect of professional peers, general acknowledgement as having reached a pinnacle of their profession or industry, demonstrated an industry achievement and exhibit personal integrity.

 'ONE TO WATCH' IN THE PIPELINE INDUSTRY AWARD CRITERIA: 

This award is aimed at someone who is a student or young professional in the oil & gas pipeline industry (under 40 years old on November 17, 2017), who exhibits the behaviors and skillset that will make them a future ‘one to watch’ in the oil & gas pipeline Industry. Nominees should exhibit excellent vision and strategic direction, clear and proven leadership, a high degree of industry knowledge and potential for future success, in the judges’ view.

Finalists will be notified in February 2018.

A representative from the winning company, individual or body must be available to accept the award. Winners will be announced at the 2018 Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 5, 2018.

Winners will be featured on www.pennenergy.com. A representative from the winning entries will work with PennEnergy editors to develop the article.  High-resolution photos/graphics (up to 10) and/or b-roll video and additional project details (where applicable) will be required.
